Virtua Fighter Remix score reader
vf-remix-rankings (v0.1) reads the arcade ranking table from the Sega Saturn
backup RAM image Virtua Fighter Remix (USA).bkr. It is a C11 program with no
third-party dependencies.
Build and run
make
./vf-remix-rankings
./vf-remix-rankings "Virtua Fighter Remix (USA).bkr"
./vf-remix-rankings --initials MRK
./vf-remix-rankings --version
If no path is supplied, the program looks for Virtua Fighter Remix (USA).bkr
in the current directory. Scores are sorted fastest-first; rank numbers remain
their positions in the complete ranking when --initials is used.
Options
-s, --save NAME Save name (default: VF_REMIX_01)
-i, --initials NAME Filter for three initials (case-insensitive)
--json JSON output (includes raw character ID)
--csv CSV output
--raw Hex dump detected score records
--no-color Disable terminal highlighting
-h, --help Show help
-v, --version Show version
Rows whose initials appear in the hardcoded user_highlights table in
vf-remix-rankings.c are tinted with that entry's truecolor #RRGGBB value.
The score time is stored in centiseconds and displayed as M'SS"CC. Saturn
font byte 0x40 is rendered as a period, so the stored initials YU@ display
as YU.. Character IDs follow Virtua Fighter's ordering used by the game:
0 Akira, 1 Kage, 2 Jeffry, 3 Wolf, 4 Jacky, 5 Pai, 6 Lau, 7 Sarah.
